親子のI like it When・・・ってフレーズが頭につい残ってしまう。
呪文のように何回も繰り返す感じ。凄く読みやすい本。
絵もとても可愛らしい。
うちの娘はこの本が大のお気に入りになりました。
夜寝る前の習慣に なかなか寝付かない娘。夜寝る時のお決まりはこの本。毎日の暮らしの中でも、手をつなぐ時、お風呂で遊ぶ時、くすぐる時・・・娘の口から自然と英語が出てくるのは子供の興味を引く明るい色使いと、かわいいペンギンのキャラクター、そして子供でも口にしやすい練られたシンプルな文によるもの。簡単な言葉から英語に親しむにはとてもいい1冊だとおもいます。 娘のお気に入りです 長女が1才半くらいの時も何度も何度も読まされましたが、次女も大好きなようで、今日も20回ほど読まされました（笑）
I like it when の後の動作を一緒にやってあげると喜びます。ハグの時はハグ、くすぐる時はくすぐって♪でもウチの次女、日本語のブタさんの鳴き声を先に覚えちゃったので、Booの時は鼻をブーってブタさんの鼻にします…。
まあそれもかわいいですけど。。。
とにかく親子で楽しめる本なのでオススメです。 親子で気に入っています。 今娘は３歳ですが１歳を過ぎたころから本当によく読んでいます。I like it when we eat new things! というと、Surprise!と返事が返ってきますし、I like it when you hold my hand. のところでは必ず一緒に握手をします。I ilke it when you kiss good night.と 読んでKiss をして、最後のページ、You're wonderful!といって思いっきり抱きしめておやすみなさいを言います。親子でのスキンシップ、愛情表現にもってこいの本当に素敵な本です。

宮内庁批判は許せないので即発禁、ジャーナリストとその国に「厳重な抗議」ということか？
内容の小さなエラーはともかくとしても、
21世紀においてさえまだそんな国は、余りにも怖すぎはしないか？ということについて、落ち着いて深く考えてみる必要が絶対にある。
他ならぬ自分の国のことだ、他所事ではない。甘く見ず、本当に真剣に考えるべき。
逆に日本人には無理なことだったかも知れない、という意味で星5つ。 「The Rape of Nanking」と同じ手口 事実を深く調べることもせず、日本に対するイメージの低下を目的に、非難的な文調で書かれた本。政府（宮内庁）が抗議の申し立てをしたために翻訳版が出版されていないそうだが、むしろきっちりと和訳してこの本のトンデモぶりを日本人に広く知らしめた方がよかったと思う。
著者ベン・ヒルズは自身のサイトでも、在日朝鮮人について「日出ずる国の奴隷（Slaves of the Rising Sun）」という題名の記事を載せている。内容は、「日本に住んでいる朝鮮人がいかに酷い処遇に遭ってきたか」。分かりやすすぎ、というか彼はどのようなきっかけで在日朝鮮人について書きたいと思ったのか。日本語はろくに分からないそうだが、自分の書いたことを本当に理解しているのだろうか。
ちなみに著者の妻はインターナショナルスクールを卒業した日本人で、現在はオーストラリアでジャーナリストをしているとのこと。New York Timesのオオニシ記者といい、中途半端に英語ができる「日本人」が、日本を不当に貶めようとしているのが目につくのだが、著者がこの題材を取り上げたのも何か関係があるのだろうかと邪知せずにはいられない。まあ海外に住んで英語だけで発言していれば、日本人と真っ向から議論になることは少ないから気楽だろうとは思う。お気楽日本批判、「日本人」の間で流行中。
センセーショナルな嘘を並べて日本を不当に貶め、事情は異なるが和訳版が出版されていない作品にかの有名な「The Rape of Nanking」がある。その著者のアイリス・チャンは同じ調子でアメリカの中国系移民についての本を書き、当然のごとく散々に叩かれた後、神経衰弱にでも陥ったか2004年に自殺している。死者に鞭を打ちたくはないが、自業自得としか言いようがない。 面白いです ３００ページ近いですが直ぐに読み終われます。読むと直ぐに感じるのが出版社に圧力をかけてまで翻訳版を出版させなかった宮内庁の発想の不思議さです。この本は基本的に皇室よりの内容で皇太子、皇太子妃についても中傷記事は見当たらない。書かれてまずいと思ったのは宮内庁のやり方についてではないかという事です。あれを中傷記事と思うのは余程後ろめたさがあるのだろう。外務省、宮内庁の言っていることを真に受ける前に読んでみればやはり出版社に圧力をかけた彼らの方がおかしいと分る筈だ。 This book is a joke Apparently recognizing that there was profit to be made from an English-language account of Crown Princess Masako that would appeal to those who never got over the excitement of junior high school, when access to privileged information about which budding couple had necked over the weekend was a source of power and popularity, Ben Hills, an Australian journalist with no Japanese language skills, decided to research Masako’s life story and the imperial house in general.
The end product is terrible for several reasons. In certain cases, the fact that Japanese government officials protest a publication about the imperial family, as they recently did Hills’ book, might indicate that the author has provided a particularly stinging but worthwhile analysis of Japan’s imperial system that deserves attention, but this is hardly the case here.
The most fundamental problem with the book is that it provides virtually no information about Crown Princess Masako and other imperial family members that is not already available in English-language newspaper accounts, not to mention in Japanese language accounts. One of the problems that Hills seemed to encounter, much to his apparent frustration, is that as far as we know there have been no sexual improprieties committed by the key four key imperial family members, the emperor, empress, crown prince, and crown princess. So even readers hoping for nothing more than steamy accounts of sexual liaisons will be disappointed, because Hills has little to report.
So desperate was Hills to spice up his account that, when faced with no remotely factual details about the sexual activities of Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako, he instead included various outlandish rumors that he himself indicates to be preposterous. If various lurid rumors are clearly nothing more than fiction, then why include them in what the author claims to be a serious biography? The one detail that Hills may deserve credit for popularizing, the claim that Princess Aiko was the result of in vitro fertilization, has not been substantiated and, if it is true, so what?
Another grave problem with the book is the arrogant and angry tone of the author himself, which pops up repeatedly in areas ranging from distant to irrelevant to the book’s purported focus on Masako. Is Hills such an intellectual giant that we should ponder at great length his characterization of Japan and Britain as “rainy, snobby, tea-drinking offshore island[s]”?
Hills complains that Ezra Vogel, a renowned Japan specialist at Harvard who knew Masako when she was an undergraduate there, only granted him thirty minutes for an interview. It is easy to imagine Vogel’s wishing he had not wasted those thirty minutes, but the point here is that the reader is not interested in Hills pouting and whining that the world should take him more seriously. If he had anything new to say about Crown Princess Masako, he would not have included so many tangential anecdotes to extend his book to almost 300 pages.
Another annoying problem with the book is that it is replete with factual errors. Most lengthy books contain a few factual errors. It is difficult to get every detail, among tens of thousands of factoids, correct in a lengthy study, but there is a difference between isolated errors and a pattern of error after error. When errors pop up every other page or so, it is correct to conclude that the book is nothing more than a sloppy, rushed effort. Such is the case here.
For example, for reasons that are unclear and totally peripheral to understanding Masako, Hills feels it necessary to take additional slaps at Harvard, which he claims “has a large contingent of young people whose principal talent is the ability to throw, catch, hit, kick or bounce a ball, winning them sporting scholarships.” Harvard, like all Ivy League colleges, does not offer sporting scholarships (many American universities do, of course, but not Ivy League ones). Hills does not know what he is talking about, but, more importantly, what purpose does this comment serve in helping the reader understand Masako and the imperial family in general?
There were, to bend over backwards to be fair, a few isolated passages of some value. Early in the book, Hills describes the numerous Shinto rituals that, to a considerable degree, define the schedules of imperial family members. In fact, the emperor and the crown prince enjoy surprisingly few days not punctuated by the need to perform one Shinto rite or another. Hill writes, “One cannot help wondering what a modern career woman like Masako really thinks of all the mystical mumbo-jumbo.” This is a good question, one that is worth extending to Crown Prince Naruhito, who also has enjoyed a modern, cosmopolitan education.
Such insights, hardly of the earthshaking nature in the first place, are rare, far less noteworthy than the author’s numerous angry and inane outbursts, not to mention the litany of factual errors. Purchase this book only if you are somehow able to arrange for a money-back guarantee, because you will almost surely want to exercise your right to a refund. Better yet, do not bother with it. 外国から見た皇室 和訳本を発売中止にさせたり、オーストラリア政府に圧力をかけたりしては、本の宣伝をしているようなものです。
こねくり回した表現や難しい単語は少ないので、電子辞書が側にあれば楽に読めます。
皇族方の描写に、畏れ多くて日本人なら書けないというところはありますが、例えば妃たちが皇室に嫁ぐ前はどれほど快活で、まっすぐな視線で意見を言っていたかということを際立たせる表現と理解すれば、それほど眉を顰めることではないでしょう。
インタビューをした相手や、批判ばかりしている侍従や、係わった医師の実名も出ているので、調べればどの程度の信憑性があるかはわかると思います。
心を病んでいる人に、わがままとか怠け者とか言うことばを平気で投げつける人たちに是非読んで欲しい本です。
中の挿し絵とは別人による、表紙の絵のチャチさにはがっかりですが、 挿し絵は当時の世相を良く伝える、ロマンチックな絵です。 もう一度BBCのPride and Prejudiceを見たくなります Jane AustinのPride and Prejudiceでは主人公のElizabethの視点から物語が描かれているため、Darcyが出てくる場面は、ElizabethとDarcyが会う時だけに限られてしまいます。この本には、彼のElizabethに対する愛情や、彼の態度が変化する背景にはどんな感情があったのかが丁寧に書かれています。
挿絵がたくさん出てくるのと、１つのチャプターが短いので、どんどん読み進めることが出来ました。この本を読んだ後だと、BBCのPride and Prejudiceがまた違う視点から楽しめそうです。 "Pride and Prejudice"ファンの誰もがのぞきたかったダーシ-の心 ジェ−ン・オースティンの名作"Pride and Prejudice"はヒロインのエリザベスの視点で描かれていますが、その同じ物語を相手役ダ-シ-の側から忠実に描き直した作品です。
左手は簡単ですけど右手は和音ばっかﾃﾞｽo全体的には決して難しくはないですが、１ｵｸﾀｰﾌﾞが届かない人には苦しいかもしれませんo私は一応幼稚園の時からﾋﾟｱﾉやってるので楽でした♪今では買ってよかったなぁ〜という思いでｲｯﾊﾟｲです!! やっぱりパイレーツでしょ！！ 私は、パイレーツオブカリビアンが、大大大大好きです！！サントラも、パンフも、DVDも買いました！！そして、狙っていた楽譜がやっと手に入った！！最高です！！ ピアノがあまりうまくない私には、少し難しいですが、いつか出来そうなくらいの、ちょうど言い難しさです。普通にピアノを習っている人には普通な楽譜だと思います！！お勧めです。ただ、手が（指が）小さ目の人には、少しむずかしい曲かも知れません。そこの所を考えてください！！ 予想以上 オーケストラをピアノソロ用にしてるし、あまり期待してはいませんでした。でも、かなり上手に再現出来ていると思います。簡単なのですが、和音が多くて(というより右手は和音ばっかり)、初心者にはちょっとキツイかも。私はエレクトーン経験は長いのですが、ピアノ歴はほとんど無いので、右手和音のフォルテがきつかったです。でも、弾けると感動! 音符でかッo 結構簡単なほうだと思いますoでも映画の雰囲気は充分出てますよ､曲数は少ないですがo オーケストラからピアノにするとたまに物理的にムリなのとかあります…この楽譜はそんなにたくさんムリっていうのはありませんでしたが､和音とオクターブが多いのでド初心者や手がちっちゃい人はチョットばかしキビシイかも?? やっと見つけた楽譜。 contents: 4.
